Empower-Link Activities and Initiatives

Empower Link is dedicated to supporting children and women in our community, offering a range of inclusive activities designed to foster participation, integration, and cultural understanding.

Activities for Children and Women

Football Sessions: Organised football activities for girls and women of all ages, providing a safe and encouraging environment to enjoy sport, build confidence, and develop skills. We especially welcome Muslim sisters and women who may feel uncomfortable around males when swimming or participating in other activities.

Swimming Programmes: Female-only swimming sessions tailored for women and girls, ensuring a comfortable space for all to enjoy the benefits of swimming while respecting cultural sensitivities.

Cultural Food Days: Regular food days where women of all ages can come together to cook and share traditional meals from their cultures. Participants also have the opportunity to teach others their culinary heritage, fostering cultural exchange and understanding.

Social Drop-In Sessions: Community gatherings where residents can come together to discuss local issues, share experiences, and talk about future projects. These sessions often include tea and informal conversations, helping neighbours get to know each other better and build stronger community bonds.

Partnerships and Collaborations

We work in partnership with the Malcolm X Centre and collaborate with Docklands (also known as Full Circle) to expand our outreach and resources.

Our initiatives aim to create a safe, inclusive environment where children can play together, and parents can connect, fostering a sense of community and mutual support.
